As I mentioned earlier, we were purging our house today, and the result of that was a big pile of records, CDs and DVDs that we wanted to try to sell at Everyday Music. So, we loaded them all up, and headed over there. We managed to fit all the records in one of my panniers, all the CDs and a few DVDs just barely fit in the other pannier, and the rest of the movies went in Patrina’s basket.
I could literally barely lift the back end of my bike up to put the parking stand down, so I’m guessing it weighed in not too far from 100 lbs (45 kg), but the bike didn’t flinch a bit on the way over, just a wee bit of side-to-side shimmy going over bumps, nothing major. There’s no way we ever could have carried all that without the bikes.
We got it all sold, walked out of the shop with some cash, and went and got some ice cream :) A reward for a productive day.
