Summer

If the rain stunts our tomatoes again this year, I’m going to be pissed. My suit pants, on the other hand, will dry out just fine, and so will my cap. No harm done.

It’s been warm (mid-70′s), rainy and humid, with really still air. Not my favorite weather, but I still think it beats 95, dry, and still air. It’s all about compromise :)

It was super pleasant to walk home in. It might have been what part of the sprinkles I caught, but I was barely damp when I got home, since it was warm too.  But lots of little growing wishes to your tomatoes. Grow tomatoes, grow!!

The radio recently said we’ll only get about a dozen days in the 90s, if that! Pretty happy that this temperate area is actually being temperate!

It was pretty nice to ride in, as well. Those pants are really thin, so they soak through quickly, but I really didn’t get that wet either, and as you said, it was warm, so no big deal. I’m not a huge fan of the humid, but I would be quite happy if most of the summer stayed in the 80′s – it’s those 95-100 degree days with bright sun that just really make my life look bleak :) It’s a toss-up for me which is worse, that or 34 and raining. On an individual basis, I think I’d even take 34 and raining, but we get so much of that weather during the winter, it certainly gets old :)

Anyway, yes, here’s hoping we stay cool-ish, but get some good sun. And we need a canning set ASAP so we can can those tomatoes (hopefully!) :)

Ha… my friends and I have been discussing this odd pocket of rain in the middle of summer too! However, like you, I’m NOT envious of my friends back in the southeast experiencing temps in the 90s and 100s. I don’t miss that at all! Good luck with your tomatoes. I finally started some this year and don’t even know what to expect! :-)

Good luck with your tomatoes as well! I hope they do really well! Make sure to have a good caprese salad with them if they turn out, one of the best ways to enjoy fresh produce is in a dish where it’s the star – just add a little drizzle of oil, salt and pepper, and chow down.
