Frame Pump

Ever since I’ve had my Raleigh, the one main thing it has been missing is the frame pump. It has had the little braze-ons sitting there, lonely (and occasionally snagging my pant legs), waiting for just the right pump to fill the empty space. Well, finally the time has arrived, and Bertram has his frame pump, resplendent in chromey glory.

Now I just need to actually start carrying a patch kit, so the pump will actually do me some good if I get a flat :)

Ahhh, frame pumps.  Haven’t seen one out on the street in a long time.  Why have they disappeared?
The way they attach to the bike is so cool.   I think they help make look commuter and hybrid bikes better.

Most of the ones I see nowadays are super-tiny plastic ones with velcro straps to attach them to the frame, that only work on Presta valves :)

Where did you get that pump? I have a flying pigeon, and my poor
Pump just didn’t make it through being parked outside in the rain all winter. I keep it on there for appearance… But it wouldn’t help in an emergency!

Tony, I got it from http://oldroads.com/bikepart.html – they stock the frame pumps for English Roadsters. I don’t know if the Flying Pigeon uses the same size or not, but I suppose it’s worth a try :)

What size was the frame pump?? I just bought a Pashley Poppy from our local cyclery and was pissed to find that the frame pump was missing. I just don’t know where to get one that fits or what size I’m supposed to find!! I don’t even know how frame pumps work!… But all I know is i need to find one for Poppy, she’s crying.

Unfortunately, I don’t remember what size it was, and I’m not sure what
size you need for the Pashley. The one I got was from here:
http://oldroads.com/bikepart.html. Hopefully that will help, and maybe
they can answer your questions. Cheers!
