The other night we noticed a film by one of our favorite directors was playing at a local theater about 5 minutes from our apartment, so we decided to make a date of it, and tried a cajun/creole restaurant that we had never been to before
(good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere – and Stella Artois on tap!)
After dinner, we meandered across the street to the theater and grabbed our tickets. We were bad and sneaked our own candy in (I hate to cheat a locally owned theater, but we come enough and buy beer and pizza there enough (you can take it into the movie and eat while watching) that I don’t mind sneaking candy in too much).
The film was brilliant, loads of fun, and reminded us a bit of his earlier film Delicatessen.
Afterward we left, unlocked the bikes, and headed home slowly in the dark, warm evening, holding hands part of the way. Life is rough sometimes, but there are moments of sweetness that make it all worthwhile.
