Hello Spring!

Well, among other things, we have a city full of people who are high on Vitamin D production with all the recent sun we’ve been having. As I mentioned, my wife and I took a ride down to the Portland Saturday Market this last Sunday (yes, the market is open on Sunday too, for any non-Portlanders), and there were tons of people out basking in the first real warm sunshine we’ve had this year.

(enlarge this one to see the steady stream of bikers and pedestrians coming over the bridge)

There were people out walking, riding bikes, there were bike taxis, people with their kids on bikes or in bike trailers, playing in the fountains, laying on the grass – it was a gorgeous day, and a perfect day to be out in the city on a bike. Here’s a bit of video evidence of just how pleasant it was. Enjoy!

Will you just look at those two Electras illuminating the city? :)

That IS a perfect Cycle Sunday (+ video), Dave!

First- I really wish I could have a handlebar basket. My bike just does not have the right stuff for one :( It is the only thing I do not like about my bike.

Second- I want to ride in Portland!

Well, we’re not that far away – and you could even rent a bakfiets from Clever Cycles for $40 a day and take all the kids around :)

If you do ever come up, let us know and my wife and I could maybe give you a brief bike-tour. Cheers!

(you could maybe replace your handlebars too, to give yourself enough real estate for a basket)

Very nice video, and great to see you’ve got all that blossom too.

FWIW, I can make a basket to fit any bike…
